UNL Outdoor Adventures offers the Huskers three exciting spring holiday adventure trips from March 10th to 20th, 2022. Activity-related equipment, transportation, meals and instruction are included in the cost of each trip.

Texas Canyon Canoe

March 10-20, 2022

If you’re looking for a real adventure, the distant river canyons of southwestern Texas are for you. Participants will cover 83 miles in a narrow canyon built by the iconic Rio Grande River and explore the ruins of a side canyon or abandoned village.

Travel groups spend several days in the river without stopping by supplies or restaurants. Given the remoteness and challenging torrents of this adventure, participants must be in good physical condition and in a positive state of mind.

UNL students cost $ 495 (a $ 165 deposit is required to secure a spot).

Escalante backpacking

March 11-20, 2022

Located in the high desert of south-central Utah, the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument boasts some of the most beautiful geological features and canyons in the Southwestern United States.

Participants will explore the canyon and learn about the unique culture of the area while backpacking the park. The group also day hikes in parks in other areas that offer stunning views of arches, canyons and other formations.

This is a tough trip. Participants are required to bring sturdy hiking boots and rainwear.

Wichita Mountain Rock Climbing

March 11-15, 2022

Travel participants explore amazingly high-quality rocks in south-central Oklahoma, offering spectacular views of the Colorado-inspired “Narrows” and Mount Scott, turning pristine granite domes and cliffs into “rock mountains.” ..

This trip is aimed at climbers of all levels, from beginners to very experienced people. The group climbs together during the day and enjoys a beautiful spring night camp on the premises.

UNL students cost $ 275 (a $ 92 deposit is required to secure a spot).
