Guests at a Casadero vacation rental escaped unharmed after their home caught fire early Tuesday morning.

The Monterio Fire District and other stations are called to the fire after one Airbnb guest reported a growing flame at 3:07 a.m.

When firefighters arrived at Block 3600 of the Cazadero Highway, the fire had spread from the deck through the front of the house into the attic and one of the vestibules.

All guests at the home are outside and no injuries have been reported.

Bucksman said it took about 10 to 15 minutes to contain the fire, and then about 90 minutes to inspect the area to make sure all flames were extinguished.

He estimates up to $150,000 in damage, including walls, rafters and the attic.

“It’s hard to live now,” he said.

Backsman said investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
