Channel 5’s When Posh Holidays Go Horribly Wrong talks to vacationers whose dream holiday has ended in a disaster. From Covid’s nightmare Terrible cruiseThese tourists faced complete turmoil.

For most Britons, a luxury holiday is a dream experience. As one interviewee told Channel 5, “I expect a five-star vacation to be luxury, luxury, and luxury!”

But that didn’t apply to Peter Hayman and Christine Burnwell of Bedfordshire, who had saved months for a lifetime vacation.

The couple’s dream cruise to see the northern lights didn’t work as they planned.

The unfortunate two met at an event for retirees of the London Emergency Services and fell in love.

They usually spent the summer in a relative’s apartment on Tenerife, but a British couple decided to splatter in 2020.

Peter said: “I just said I wanted to see the northern lights. He wanted to see them since he was a kid.”

Christine booked a couple an aurora cruise through Saga, including two excursions to see the aurora.

A once-in-a-lifetime cruise cost a couple a whopping £ 7,500, and they spent more money on clothing in cold weather.

Do not miss it

However, after that, I received the shocking news that the departure was delayed due to the outbreak of norovirus on board.

Christine said: “I packed a bottle of bleach and rubber gloves. The first thing I did when I got to the cabin was to go around and bleach everything.”

Peter especially wanted the cruise to be perfect, as he devised a plan to ask Christine to marry him on his dream voyage.

However, Peter’s huge project was soon affected by another outbreak of norovirus on board, which quickly hit 20 passengers per day.

Christine said: “The day I arrived in Tromso, I went to breakfast in the morning. When I returned to the cabin, I told Peter,” I feel a little nauseous. “

“And by about 2 pm I was terribly ill and had diarrhea, and I felt absolutely scary, it was terrible.”

Peter was soon killed by the norovirus, so the problem wasn’t resolved.

He states: “I had a severe headache, severe temperature, and vomiting. I have diarrhea and my stomach hurts.”

The couple missed their dream excursion to see the Northern Lights because they were sick and trapped in their hut.

Despite the disaster, Peter managed to manage his proposal, which Christine was willing to accept.

A spokesman for Saga Prefecture said: “Cruise did not meet the expectations of Mr. Burnwall and Mr. Hayman and apologized.

“We are in regular contact with Mr. Burnwall and Mr. Hayman and are pleased to be able to resolve their complaints.

“Our top priority is the health and safety of our customers, crew, and the area we sail.

“We have taken detailed operating procedures to combat norovirus and ensure the health of our guests and crew in accordance with the highest standards of cleanliness, health and safety.”
